Veterinary Surgeon

We are looking for a full or part-time vet at our sister clinic, Chertsey Vets.

We would be very happy to support a new or recent graduate, we would also be very happy to hear from certificate holders, or someone wishing to work towards one.

Salary range £30-£55k pro-rata, DOE, 4.5 day week and 1 in 3 Saturday morning only; with extras including gym membership, health insurance, 5days+ CPD, no ooh, flexible rota (we can consider school hours, later start time etc for the right person)

We are a friendly team, just normal people who love offering clients the best possible service for them and their pets.

Are you looking for...

  • Clinical freedom?

  • Case continuity?

  • Supportive management?

  • Clients who really care about their pets?

  • A truly independent clinic, where decisions can be made quickly?

  • Happy and friendly staff, who genuinely work together as a team?

  • The opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills?

If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for a veterinary surgeon to join us on a full-time basis.

You will need to have very high levels of customer service, as our clients expect a gold standard approach to care.

We work cases up fully, and with our visiting referral surgeons, there is rarely a need to refer patients elsewhere.

You would be based at Chertsey Vets, but occasionally you may be required to work at Woodham Lane. Our two branches are only 10 minutes apart, and work very closely together.

We are happy to discuss a school hours rota.

Salary DOE, but very competitive, with above average CPD allowance and gym membership.

We would be happy if you are an experienced vet, have a certificate, or would like to start working towards one.

As you would be joining a team of 4 vets, we are happy to support a recent graduate, or a confident new graduate.

Saturdays are 9-12, and on a 1-in-3 rota

There is no out of hours.

Vets are scheduled admin time and a lunch break every day.

Our rota is based on 1 vet consulting and 1 vet operating:

If consulting, you have 3 consult sessions through the day

If on ops, then you operate until the afternoon, and then have a consult session later in the day.

We have:

  • Purpose built practices

  • 15 minute appointments

  • Low rise consult tables - so no lifting heavy dogs!

  • Endosurgery (inc keyhole spays)

  • Nurse clinics

  • Visiting soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeons

  • Visiting cardiologist

  • Accupuncture

  • Digital X-ray

  • Ultrasound

  • Electrocautary

  • Suction

  • Endoscopy

  • Laparoscope

  • Patient monitoring

  • In-house lab

  • Qualified nurses

  • Very capable reception team

  • Full time practice manager

  • Veterinary ambulance

What makes us different?

We are genuinely independent - the practices are owned and run by Sarah and Tristan.

We listen to our vets - after having worked for many less than brilliant bosses over the years, Sarah and Tristan strive to be approachable, friendly, caring and understanding bosses, with an open door management policy.

We have a lovely, friendly team, and a wealth of experience and skills from our vet and nursing team.

We are a modern and progressive practice, with all the kit you'd expect, and a very pro-active approach to CPD, if you want to start or continue your certificate, then we are very happy to support you. We don't cherry-pick surgeries or cases, you can follow your cases through, and learn new skills.

We are very happy to hear from you if you are looking for an assistant vet position, or a senior/head vet position with increased levels of responsibility. We would also consider future partnership opportunities for the right person.

Drop us an email, or a short video telling us about yourself, what you've done so far, and what you are looking for in your career, to: careers@chertseyvets.co.uk,

and we will get in touch with you
